The studio

Small on purpose.

A studio grows by taking more work. We decided early that we would rather grow by doing better work, which puts a hard ceiling on how many clients we can carry at once.

Razar started because the work we were being asked to produce elsewhere kept arriving at eighty percent and shipping anyway. Not because anyone was careless — because nobody was structurally responsible for the last twenty.

So the studio is organised around that gap. Fewer clients than we could take. Longer schedules where the work needs them. A production standard that is written down, and a review step that nothing skips.

It is a slower way to run an agency and a considerably better way to make things.

What that means in practice

01

One team, one room

Strategy, design, film and engineering sit together. Nothing is briefed across a gap, because a brief across a gap is where intent gets lost.

02

Native, not translated

Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and English are all written by people who read them natively. None of them is a version of another.

03

We stay after launch

The report comes without being asked, and it says what we would change. A campaign that ended is not a project that finished.

04

Credit is not optional

Every person who worked on a project is named on it. Publicly.

How we work

Quality is not a department.

Six commitments. We put them in writing because standards that are not written down are preferences.

  1. The last ten percent is the work

Anyone can get a project to eighty percent. We are paid for the part after that: the retouch nobody asked for, the fourth round of type, the export nobody would have questioned.

  2. One standard, every language

The Kurdish version is not the English version with the text swapped. It is typeset, kerned and rewritten by someone who reads it natively.

  3. We show the numbers

Reach, cost per result, conversion. If a campaign underperformed, that appears in the report before you have to ask for it.

  4. The credit goes to the people

Every case study names the director, the photographer, the retoucher, the developer. Uncredited work is the fastest way to lose the people who made it good.

  5. We say no

To briefs we cannot do well, to timelines that guarantee a bad result, and to ideas of our own that stopped working halfway through.

  6. Nothing leaves without a second pair of eyes

No file, post, print-ready PDF or deploy goes out reviewed only by the person who made it. Not once.

The people

Roles rather than a headcount. We would rather tell you exactly who would be on your project than list a directory.

Working here

We hire slowly.

There is rarely an open position. There is always an open inbox — if you are unusually good at one of the five disciplines, write to us with the work, not the CV.

Use the planner to sketch the scope and get an honest range in your currency, or just write to us. Both reach the same three people.
